Check the rules
Confirm your office-specific residency, district boundaries, filing deadlines, and reporting requirements with the election office handling your race.
Official resources
Utah candidate resources and Salt Lake County filing guidance are starting points; verify your particular office and current election.
Get a proper photo
Take a dedicated, current, solo, high-resolution head-and-shoulders photo in good light against a simple background.
Photo checklist
No vacation photos, full-body shots, group photos, or screenshots. Send the original image file for your listing and campaign materials.
Set up the basics
Choose campaign contact information, then prepare a consistent website or social presence and essential materials with your name, office, and district.
Quick checklist
Use an email and phone your team can monitor. Keep the same campaign details on your signs, handouts, and candidate listing.
Plan outreach
Map voters and useful major routes, including routes outside the district. Place signs only with property permission and where applicable sign and right-of-way rules allow.
Placement reminder
Check local and state rules before posting; do not assume a roadside or public right-of-way location permits signs.
